Functions of the department
The following are the functions of the Department:
- Oral Diagnosis Clinic which runs from Mondays to Fridays
- Specialized clinical care services which include:
- Maxillofacial clinic
- Family Dentistry Clinic, Restorative Clinic
- Periodontology Clinic
- Child Dental Health Clinic
- Maxillofacial surgery takes place every Wednesday and emergency cover 24 hours. Pre- and post-operative care of the patients with ground rounds on every Thursday. The Oral and Maxillofacial Unit has taken its proper place in the hospital and rendering highly complex and specialized treatment care for our clients with successful outcomes.
Daily Departmental Activities
- Clinics:
- 8:00 - 8:30am - Oral Health Educational Talk
- 8:30 - 12:30am - Morning Clinic
- 12:30 - 1:30pm - Oral Health Educational Talk
- 1:30 - 3:30pm - Oral Health Educational Talk
- 4:00pm - Clinic calls (Based on prepared roasters for the month)
- Clinical Roaster:
- Monday: Oral Diagnosis/OMFS Clinics
- Tuesday: Family Dentistry Clinic and Operative
- Wednesday: OMFS Theatre/Oral Diagnosis and Restorative Clinics
- Thursday: Oral Diagnosis/Ground Rounds for OMFS/Period Ontology
- Friday: Research Day for Consultants only/Oral Diagnosis/Child Dental Health Oral diagnosis clinic is managed by Dental officers under supervision of consultant
